Industrial Kinetics Lean Initiative Progress
IK's lean initiative has been providing results in the design and manufacture of conveyor and engineer to order equipment. The addition of our ERP system has created engineering and manufacturing efficiencies. As we grow and adjust our processes in engineering we achieve continuous improvement, realizing that perfection is never achieved and we have additional room to grow. In manufacturing our continuous improvements have included further defining routing and establishing WIP areas.
This lean initiative and software implementation has improved our efficiency, but it also increased our direct knowledge and application of modern software and flow in a manufacturing environment. Our manufacturing includes many custom and modified standard assemblies, resulting in an interesting application of ERP and Lean principals. This is a common element in remaining US assembly operations. Our direct experience in applying this internally helps us support our customers in improving thier manufcaturing process – we have been there.
