Bag Kicker Conveyor
Overview
The Industrial Kinetics Bag Kicker Conveyor is designed to transfer sealed bags from an upright position to a horizontal orientation for downstream conveying or palletizing. Installed immediately after the bag sealer, this system includes an upright bag transport conveyor that positions the filled bag in front of a pneumatic top or bottom kicker. Upon actuation, the kicker arm gently knocks the bag down onto a short chute leading to a takeaway conveyor. The design allows the bag to be kicked with either the bottom end leading (bottom kick) or top end leading (top kick), depending on product orientation requirements. An optional height-adjustable frame, operated by a hand-crank or optional motorized lift, ensures correct alignment with varying bag heights and filler setups.

Why Choose Us
The Industrial Kinetics Bag Kicker Conveyor combines proven pneumatic actuation with precise mechanical alignment for dependable performance in bag-handling operations. Each unit is built with heavy-duty steel framing and designed to CEMA standards for durability and safety. The height-adjustable design provides flexibility for variable bag sizes and filler heights, while the pneumatic system ensures smooth, repeatable operation with minimal maintenance. Industrial Kinetics’ engineering expertise ensures reliable integration within new or existing bag-handling lines.
System Integration
The Bag Kicker Conveyor integrates directly after the bag sealer conveyor, providing correct orientation for downstream accumulation or palletizing conveyors. It is compatible with Industrial Kinetics’ standard bag conditioning, flattening, and accumulation conveyors, allowing a complete, modular bag-handling solution. The height-adjustable lift ensures correct alignment with a variety of bag fillers and sealers, enabling smooth transfer regardless of product or packaging variation. Integration options include electrical interlock, air control tie-ins, and PLC connectivity for automated operation.
What industries typically use these systems:
01
Feed & Seed – Transfers and accumulates filled bags between filler and palletizer.
02
Food Ingredients – Aligns and lays down flour, sugar, or starch bags for uniform stacking.
03
Chemical & Mineral Products – Handles granular or powdered material bags requiring controlled orientation.
04
Building Materials – Flattens and redirects cement, lime, or gypsum bags prior to accumulation.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between a top kick and a bottom kick?
A top kicker strikes the upper portion of an upright bag, causing it to fall forward with the top sealed end leading. A bottom kicker pushes near the base of the bag, causing it to fall backward with the bottom end leading. The choice depends on how the bag should orient for palletizing or downstream operations.
Can the kicker height be adjusted for different bag sizes?
Yes. The kicker and its supporting conveyor can be raised or lowered manually with a hand crank, or automatically using an optional motorized lift assembly.
What kind of maintenance does the bag kicker require?
Routine maintenance includes checking air line filters, inspecting cylinder seals, verifying belt tension, and confirming sensor alignment. All components are easily accessible for preventive service.
Can the system be integrated with my existing bag filler and sealer?
Yes. Industrial Kinetics’ bag kickers are designed to interface with existing filler and sealing lines. Electrical and pneumatic tie-in points are provided for control synchronization.
What bag types can the kicker handle?
It is suitable for paper, polywoven, and plastic bags up to 150 lb and 40 in tall, provided the bag has enough rigidity to stand upright prior to kicking.
How does the pneumatic kicker ensure gentle handling?
The pneumatic cylinder stroke and pressure can be adjusted to match the weight and material of the bag. The paddles are often padded or surfaced to minimize impact marks.
Does Industrial Kinetics offer custom configurations?
Yes. Options include dual kickers, custom chute geometries, stainless-steel construction, and PLC integration for advanced automation.
